Introduction to the Southern Growth Siren

This blog is being created as an experimental outlet by members of the Louisiana State University School of Landscape Architecture family. In future posts we hope to spotlight innovative concepts in the built environment in the American South. While much of the content of this blog will be urban in context, the south has an overarching rural culturalism in which it is set. We hope to be the information source of what experimental development and design projects are taking place in southern cities.
It is in the spirit of experimentalism in urban southern settings that we will also be documenting our own art installations/landscape designs. Although, the experiments in landscape will begin in Baton Rouge, LA and its adjacent cities (New Orleans, and Lafayette), it is our hope that similar experiments will spread to other cities (by us or other designers) to continue to push the boundaries of the built environment.

This is my first post, a sample if you will.
